The Elevate Scholarship is a 3-year-old program which aims to strengthen the news business by equipping new faces and voices with strong media industry fundamentals. In its third year, the focus of the the scholarship is diversity and inclusion in the news media industry.

The scholarship elevates historically under-represented and disadvantaged groups in early- to mid-career positions. Such groups include race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, access to higher education, immigration, disabilities, and more.

“It makes us proud that the INQUIRER.net’s Head of Social Media got chosen as one of the scholars for this year’s program. We eagerly look forward to the learnings and insights that Ralph will share with our team which I believe is very apt as newsrooms today seek ways to connect and engage with different audience segments,” said Imelda Alcantara, INQUIRER.net chief operating officer.

Scholars will be given free access to three INMA master classes in 2023, a meet-up with INMA and Google, a scholarship certificate, and a one-year INMA membership. EDV
