Chinese Search Engine Baidu Will Launch ChatGPT Rival In March

Chinese internet company Baidu will soon launch an AI chatbot similar to ChatGPT. Bloomberg reported that it would release the new tool in March.

The publication added that the tech firm would embed AI into its primary search services. Also, it uses the Ernie system, a large-scale machine learning model, to train the system.

Baidu has not named its upcoming AI chatbot. Whatever its name would be, this Chinese ChatGPT rival would likely skyrocket the company to the likes of Meta and Google.

Baidu has not released more details about its AI chatbot at the time of writing. However, we can expect the use of artificial intelligence to expand further.

After all, China has been a tech powerhouse for several years. It has the hardware, software, and expertise needed to potentially create something more powerful than ChatGPT.

Perhaps it could enable more people worldwide to access text-generating AI. Yet, we do not need to wait for the Chinese ChatGPT for the technology to expand.

The AI craze started when DALL-E became trending online last year. It could create images from simple commands, rocking the art world.

Some artists welcomed the AI revolution by adopting it to their craft. Others filed lawsuits after some companies used their works to develop their artificial intelligence.

In November 2022, OpenAI amazed the world with its AI chatbot ChatGPT. It generated text that highly resembled manmade writing for various purposes.

Within three months, it has revolutionized many aspects of daily life. Education has been scrambling to adapt as more students use it to cheat.

Meanwhile, it has been benefiting other fields, such as content writing. ChatGPT could create outlines and ideas to facilitate the writer’s work.

Other companies have revealed their upcoming AI projects. For example, Meta shared Make-A-Video, a tool that creates video clips from simple prompts.

Meanwhile, Google is working on MusicLM, which is like ChatGPT, except it creates music.

However, they have not opened public access yet. Perhaps they will launch alongside the Chinese ChatGPT from Baidu!

Conclusion

Baidu announced it would release a rival chatbot to ChatGPT in March. At the time of writing, it has not provided more details about its capabilities.

All we can expect is that it would radically expand the use of artificial intelligence worldwide. As AI creates more manmade content, how should we respond to these changes?
