Major outage hits Microsoft Teams in Asia-Pacific
MANILA, Philippines — Microsoft confirmed a major outage to its communications platform, Microsoft Teams, within the Asia-Pacific region on Wednesday.
Through its Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account, the tech company confirmed the “issues affecting users’ access to Teams’ services and functionality.”

Microsoft also confirmed that “users may be unable to join meetings,” but stressed that they are already addressing the issues in regard to “messaging delays, call failures, and chat presence.”

Meanwhile, affected users have flocked to Twitter to air out their complaints and criticisms amid several instances of outages.
“This year is really not going well for you. There are too many outages within the first 38 days of the year. This is really showing how unreliable M365 is becoming for organizations that choose to rely on your services. On top of that, the service status page never gets updated,” one user tweeted.

One user even claimed that his school’s awarding ceremony had been canceled due to the issue.
“My school canceled classes because of this. We were having our awardings :(.”
