Globe receives Opensignal awards for 5G video experience, 5G upload speed and core consistent quality in Barcelona

Globe, the leader in Mobile, formally received recognition from Opensignal’s Mobile Experience Awards for 5G Video Experience, 5G Upload Speed and Core Consistent Quality in the Philippines, on the sidelines of the 2023 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last March 1.

Globe’s top leadership, led by President and CEO Ernest Cu, Chief Transformation and Customer Experience Officer Rebecca Eclipse, SVP and Head of Network Planning and Engineering Joel Agustin, and Chief Technical Advisor Yoke Kong Seow received the award from Opensignal’s President for Market Impact Barry Graham in Barcelona.

In Opensignal’s Philippines Mobile Network Experience Report for October 2022*, Globe received the highest rating among Philippine telcos for mobile video streaming over 5G, garnering the best score at 73.5.

It was also recognized for 5G upload speed supremacy nationwide with a score of 12.8 Mbps, besting competition with a 1.4 Mbps lead.

Globe also bagged the Core Consistent Quality award with a score of 76.9%, beating competitor scores of 76.4% and 75.6%. Core Consistent Quality measures how often users’ experience on a network was sufficient to support common application requirements.

In the same report, Globe was also declared a joint winner in 5G Voice App Experience and 5G Games Experience. While Globe was the sole winner in Calabarzon and Metropolitan Manila in both categories.

Globe has been consistently cited by various global analytics firms in various metrics, from 5G performance, consistency and reliability to its sustainability and good governance practices.
