Join the Iconic Philippines photo contest to win TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G and up to Php 50,000 in prizes
The Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation, Inc. (FPPF), in partnership with TECNO, today launched the ICONIC Philippines CAMON 20 Pro Series Photography Contest.
Open to Filipino amateurs, hobbyists and professionals, the contest seeks out photos that depict what it means to be a Filipino. It is meant to bring out the contestants’ creativity and talent in capturing the quintessential Filipino spirit.
Entry submissions for the first round will run from July 11 to 21. Five (5) finalists will each receive a TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G, which they will use to take photos for the final round. The finalists will compete for the third- to first-place spots. Third place will receive PhP20,000; second place will receive Php30,000; and first place will receive Php50,000.
“This contest is very timely. It uplifts the Filipino spirit, highlights our culture and country, and at the same time gives Filipino photography enthusiasts and professionals the opportunity to showcase their talents. We are able to do this project with the generous support of TECNO. Their smartphones can take photos that are as good as traditional cameras,” said Mr. Eduvegis Huang, FPPF Chairman.
The FPPF is a non-profit, non-government organization that advocates photography in the Philippines. It is the umbrella organization for photography and camera clubs in the country with around 2,000 members. FPPF organizes the “largest and longest-running photography event in Southeast Asia, the annual PhotoWorld Asia Trade Show and Convention, which has been held continuously for the last 25 years.”
How to Join the Iconic CAMON Photo Contest
The qualifying round will run from July 11 to 21, 2023. Interested participants must register and submit up to a maximum of five (5) digital portraits that embody what a Filipino is to them. They must share their photo entries on Instagram or facebook with the hashtags #IconicPhilippines #TECNOPhilippines #CAMON20ProPhotoContest. Social media posts should be viewable by the public.
Five (5) finalists will be selected by a panel of judges composed of photography experts and a TECNO PH representative. The finalists will each receive a TECNO CAMON 20 Pro 5G smartphone and will advance to the final round, where they will submit new portrait photos of Filipinos taken using the CAMON 20 Pro 5G and following the theme “Iconic Philippines.” This will give them the opportunity to explore the excellent features of the CAMON 20 Pro 5G’s iconic portrait camera.
Entries will be screened based on creativity, adherence to the theme, and impact. The grand winner will be announced online on the FPPF and TECNO Mobile FB pages.
