Google search gains new AI features

Google has been promoting its AI as a digital assistant. For example, open Google Lens, and it will help people search translations for foreign sign posts.

On March 27, the company doubled down on turning artificial intelligence (AI) into a nifty travel aid by giving it more features.

Now, the tech giant’s AI can help people plan their trips. A single Google search shows the most popular tourist spots and recommends their wardrobe, removing the need to open other websites.

What are the latest Google AI features?

People may try these features via the company app’s Lens feature. They facilitate travel in time for summer vacation in the United States and nearby countries.

The first facilitates compiling locations into an itinerary. Previously, people had to check multiple websites to list ideal locations before narrowing down their choices. 

Thanks to this Google Search AI, people can get a ready itinerary quicker.

For example, enter, “Plan me a 3-day trip to Philadelphia that’s all about history.” It will recommend attractions, restaurants, flights, and hotel options compiled from multiple websites.

A user may likewise edit the AI-generated list to facilitate navigating and exploring choices. Also, Google AI can suggest what to wear for an upcoming trip. 

Google Lens can translate foreign text around a user, but the recent upgrade lets it translate on-screen text too.

For example, this AI can translate a PDF menu if a restaurant prefers it over physical ones. A user may also point Google Lens at objects to learn more information. 

Let’s say one finds an interesting artwork. The user may point Lens at it and ask questions like, “Why did the artist paint this?” As a result, people gain more insights during their trip.

Google is planning to overhaul the Search website’s design soon, shifting away from its classic “ten blue links” to offer a more “visual, snackable, personal, and human” layout.
