How to find your Wi-Fi password
The Internet has become an integral part of daily life, so it’s not surprising that many people want to maintain online connectivity even while with friends and family.
People would always seek the inevitable Wi-Fi password when visiting other people’s homes or when in hotels, restaurants, and other establishments.
Fortunately, Android and iOS can make password sharing possible with a few simple steps.

Remember, however, that these steps may slightly differ depending on an individual’s phone brand and model:

- Tap Network & internet.
- Then, select Internet.
- Select the network with the password you need.
- Next, tap the gear icon next to that network.
- Hit the Share button.
- Confirm your unlock code.
- Copy and paste the code or let your family member or friend scan its QR code.
Meanwhile, the official Apple webpage says a person may “use [the] passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID to see and copy Wi-Fi passwords.”
First, find the one linked to the network on iOS 16 with these steps:
- Tap the Wi-Fi option in the Settings app.
- Find the Wi-Fi network you need.
- Next, tap the Info button. Its icon is the letter “i” inside a circle.
- Tap the Password field.
- Use your passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID to unlock and show the password.

According to Lifewire, wireless connection security keys can be shared on older iOS versions with certain instructions.
The process includes:
- Hold your iPhone or iPad near your friend’s.
- Next, ask your friend to try to connect to your internet network.
- Wait for the Share Your Wi-Fi window to appear and tap Share Password.
- Your device will send your security code to your friend’s device, and their device will connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Afterward, tap Done on your iPhone.
However, the Contacts app must contain the Apple ID of the individual’s friend, and both the individual and the friend must have their phone’s Bluetooth activated.
