Invisibility Shield lets you vanish like magic
Have you ever wanted to have superpowers? Maybe you wanted immense strength like Superman or extreme speed like the Flash.
Perhaps you’re a massive Harry Potter fan who wants to slink into the shadows with the Invisibility cloak. Fortunately, a UK-based startup can fulfill that dream (sort of).

How does the Invisibility Shield work?
The Invisibility Shield company doesn’t have an official website except for a Kickstarter page. Its flagship product looks like a translucent plastic wall at first glance.
However, standing behind it won’t reveal you, hence, making you technically “invisible.” ScienceAlert says the product uses lenticular lensing.
Article continues after this advertisementJapanese lens producer Beam Electronics Industrial defines a lenticular lens with the following statement:
“A Lenticular lens is a kind of lens whose surface has a narrow barrel roofed pattern. When parallel is entered from the convex side, the light is concentrated on each line and then diffused.”
The Shield bends light from the background towards the viewer. Meanwhile, the light from an object behind the shield’s center refracts away from the viewer.
As a result, viewers see the background instead of what’s behind the Invisibility Shield. However, it has huge limitations.
For example, it works best with uniform backgrounds, low light, and overcast conditions. Also, users must poke their heads outside the wall to see what’s on the other side.
That means you could give away your location whenever you need to see around you. Moreover, the Invisibility Shield is too cumbersome for mobile use.
The biggest is the Megashield, standing six feet tall or 183 cm, but you need a buddy to set it up in 15 minutes.
The smallest Mini spans 20 cm by 30 cm or 12” x 7.9,” which can only hide objects smaller than people.
Nevertheless, it is an engineering marvel that is waterproof, recyclable, and requires no power source. Check out the Invisibility Shield page for more information.
