UAE ‘pumped’ for gas station robot
Picture your typical refill at the gas station. You park at the gas pump for a few seconds and then leave.
You may have noticed a few steps missing in that example. After all, you might be used to getting out of the car to load fuel or letting a gas station attendant do it.

What are the gas station robot’s features?
It is the latest Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) project, which aims to improve customer satisfaction with the latest technologies.
Users may open their ADNOC app at the gas station and pick a fuel type. In response, a robotic arm will align its nozzle with the gas tank to pump fuel.

UAE-based news agency The National says the system “offers speed, convenience, and environmental benefits.”
Butlr reduces the risk of spills and allows gas station attendants to focus on other services.
Jose Cejas, Business Development Manager for DHL Global Forwarding, shares more details on LinkedIn about the gas station robot.
“We are pleased to introduce Butlr, our AI-powered robot pump attendant, to our valued customers,” said John Carey, CEO of ADNOC Distribution.
“This progressive era no longer simplest complements the client enjoy but additionally demonstrates our commitment to embracing present-day answers that streamline operations and improve efficiency.”
Interesting Engineering says ADNOC is testing the gas station robot at Reef Island in Abu Dhabi.
The test run will gather data to facilitate Butlr’s rollout across ADNOC’s UAE network.
