The Philippines’ Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has been warning Filipinos about these schemes more frequently than ever.

Scammers only need a few contact details to initiate their plans, so you may conceal that data by hiding your phone number.

How to hide your phone number on Android and iOS

Tech news website Alphr recommends the following steps for concealing your contact details on an Android device:

  1. Launch the Phone app.
  2. Tap Calls in the Settings list. 
  3. Then, select Additional Settings. 
  4. Tap Caller ID and wait for the menu to load.
  5. Afterward, tap the Hide Number button. 

Lifewire says you may hide your phone number when calling by adding “*67” before entering the number you’d like to contact.

However, you must use this method for every call because there is no built-in feature that automates it. The steps are much simpler for iPhone users:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Next, scroll down and select Phone.
  3. Tap Show My Caller ID.
