MANILA, Philippines — The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) reported that four of its web-based systems were attacked and compromised on Sunday, June 16.

Marina assured the public that it immediately deployed officials and employees to its central office to implement measures that would help ensure protection of the systems, and that its information technology (IT) team already sought the assistance of the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center.
