Microsoft improves Copilot AI with voice and vision features

Microsoft recently announced vision and voice upgrades for its Copilot AI assistant, providing users with a more seamless, hands-free experience. 

The improvements let the digital companion read the latest news or guide you through a recipe step by step. You may also talk to Copilot like a friend.

Ask a question, and it will give you an instant, conversational response. Consequently, the new Copilot can support your needs, whether you’re organizing your day or checking the weather.

The AI assistant has a user-friendlier interface with the new Copilot Discover page at the center of the experience. 

This page evolves as you interact and tailor suggestions and information to your unique preferences, making each interaction more personal and engaging.

The voice upgrade offers four voice options so that users can select the most comfortable. Also, Copilot Vision expands the AI program’s functionality, allowing it to “see” and interpret online content.

Other noteworthy features include Copilot Daily, a personalized audio briefing with news and weather updates.

The AI assistant’s Think Deeper feature offers detailed, step-by-step insights to help you make informed decisions.

Mustafa Suleyman, Microsoft AI CEO, led this transformation.

Yusuf Mehdi, executive vice president and consumer chief marketing officer at Microsoft, emphasized the contributions of Microsoft’s Pi team and Inflection AI partners.

“Their insights into user needs have been instrumental in shaping the new Copilot,” Mehdi said.

You may download the enhanced Copilot on iOS and Android apps. Moreover, you can open it via the Copilot Windows app and the website copilot.microsoft.com. Voice features will launch first in English in select regions.
