Protecta Fintech unites online payment sector against cybercrimes

TAGUIG, Philippines – Digital payment industry leaders have formally launched Protecta Fintech to protect stakeholders against cybercrimes. 

Protecta Pilipinas Fintech Division united fintech companies to improve security and protect consumers.

The launch occurred on December 6 at the PNP Cybercrime Hub, where the following key figures signed the Memorandum of Understanding:

Protecta Fintech’s goals and responsibilities include: 

  • Cultivate a culture of compliance by only endorsing admission to Protecta Pilipinas with updated monitoring clearances for regulators.
  • Open industry communication through Protecta Fintech’s Secretariat and during Protecta Pilipinas
  • Maximize influence in fintech roundtables via deliberate endorsement for admission of prospective members to Protecta Pilipinas.
  • Advocate for dynamic and responsive legislation by conducting industry research regularly and submitting recommendations to proper government agencies.
  • Update stakeholders on evolving relevant financial technologies

“We are proud to introduce Protecta Fintech as a collaborative effort to tackle cybercrime in the fintech industry,” Protecta Fintech Lead Advocate Coco Mauricio said.
