Capgemini Research Institute reported that 97% of surveyed companies encountered cybersecurity breaches.

Recent events prove the emerging danger.

On December 8, 2024, the US Treasury Department found that a China state-sponsored actor breached its security.

Moreover, in its latest report, 44% of the top executives cited Generative AI as one of the top digital threats.

Despite its potential benefits, many have used the technology to improve online scams and create new ones.

Fortunately, the Philippines has been ramping up its cybersecurity while pursuing the top tech trends.

For example, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) partnered with the private sector to protect online lending users.

3. AI-driven robotics

Robots that talk and walk among us are slowly but surely becoming a reality.

Nowadays, Tesla and other companies worldwide are creating humanoid machines for various purposes.

Elon Musk wants his robots to perform daily household chores.

Also, Amazon’s Astro bot will merge the digital assistant Alexa, AI and other innovations for similar purposes.

Capgemini Research says 24% of top execs see AI-driven robotics as one of the top tech trends of 2025.

Soon, their prevalence will “challenge our understanding of leadership, responsibility and collaboration.”

4. Nuclear energy

Nuclear energy evokes images of mushroom clouds that cause massive devastation, discouraging them from adopting this technology.

Fortunately, nuclear energy innovation gains a reviving jolt from an unlikely source: artificial intelligence.

Generative AI models rely on large language models (LLM) that can match the energy requirements of small nations.

In response, AI companies have been ramping up nuclear investments.

For example, Google signed an agreement with Kairos Power for its energy needs.

Specifically, Kairos will help build small modular reactors (SMR) for this tech giant.

Only a few execs view SMRs as one of the top 3 Sustainability Technologies for 2025.

Nonetheless, Capgemini expects its development to accelerate this year.

5. Enhanced supply chains

Capgemini says businesses have been struggling to navigate increasingly unpredictable market conditions.

The IT firm reports supply chains will continue facing environmental disruptions, regulatory pressures and geopolitical tensions.

In response, they have been adopting key technologies like AI, blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT).

These innovations improve the “cost-efficiency, resilience, agility, circulatory and sustainability of supply chains.”

Capgemini Research Institute says 37% of top business leaders see new-generation supply chains to be the top tech trend of 2025.
