French AI startup launches free Le Chat AI for iOS, Android
The Le Chat AI app launches on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, providing an alternative to DeepSeek.

The Chinese tech startup DeepSeek released its namesake AI model that’s available for free on mobile and PC.
It can write song lyrics, help with personal development goals, and do other tasks that Western AI programs can do.
“What we’ve found is that DeepSeek… is the top performing, or roughly on par with the best American models,” Alexandr Wang, CEO of Scale AI, told CNBC.
However, it raised data privacy concerns after more people looked at its official Privacy Policy.
“The personal information we collect from you may be stored on a server located outside of the country where you live,” it said.
“We store the information we collect in secure servers located in the People’s Republic of China,” it added.
Nowadays, more are looking for a safer alternative, and Le Chat AI could be a viable solution.
It originates from the French startup, which was founded in April 2023 by researchers Arthur Mensch, Guillaume Lample, and Timothée Lacroix.
They strive to make cutting-edge artificial intelligence accessible to all.
Hence, Mistral AI launched the Le Chat app for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The free version has the “flash answers” feature that generates responses at speeds of up to 1,000 words per second.
Similar to other AI models, it offers limited web browsing, data analysis, file uploads, and image generation.
Le Chat AI’s monthly Pro subscription is also more affordable than ChatGPT’s. The former costs $14.99, and the latter is $20.00.
The Pro version provides unlimited access to the previous features along with the option to opt out of sharing your data.
It’s unclear which country will dominate the future of AI.
