Caloocan to distribute 10,000 tablets, 1,500 laptops for public schools

MANILA, Philippines — The Caloocan City government will distribute about 10,000 tablets and 1,500 laptops to help public school students and teachers adapt to new modes of learning and improve lesson delivery.
The gadgets will be turned over in bulk to the Schools Division Office, which will handle the distribution to beneficiaries, city officials said.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said the city government continues to prioritize the digitalization of education programs to give schools more opportunities to meet the individual learning needs of students.
Malapitan added that while the city first focused on providing classrooms and facilities, the government now aims to supply more gadgets, IT equipment, smart classrooms and laboratories to help students keep up with modern times.
The city targets to complete the distribution of tablets and laptops to beneficiary schools by the end of the year.
