OG hits DreamLeague slump, eyes $1M redemption at PGL Wallachia

09:48 PM February 23, 2026

OG’s all-Filipino core bowed out of its DreamLeague Season 28 campaign on February 21, 2026 after the roster fell to BetBoom Team in a grueling 60-minute game three tiebreaker.

Fresh off a top 4 win at BLAST Slam VI, OG looked primed to push even further. But before they could take hold of that momentum, DreamLeague handed them their worst result since forming last November 2025.

OG loses early momentum, eliminated from Group Stage 1

The tournament initially looked to be another deep run for the Filipinos. Carry player John Anthony “Natsumi” Vargas led the charge with a combined 24 kills and 20 assists in their opening game sweep of Yakult Brothers. The team immediately followed that with another sweep against Team Yandex, starting their campaign with a strong four-win streak.

OG failed to carry the early momentum into their third series. Although they extended their win streak by one, it came via a default victory after paiN Gaming missed the opening game of the series. From there, OG’s tournament took a sharp turn as they dropped their next seven games in the group stage.

FEATURED STORIES

Although OG kept things competitive against Season 27 podium finishers PARIVISION, their matches against Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming were decisive sweeps. Both series ended in under 40 minutes per game as the Filipinos struggled to match the firepower of Group A’s hottest squads.

Aurora, who entered the series on a 25 match winning streak, and Team Liquid, who eliminated OG, 3-0, at BLAST Slam VI semifinals days prior, left little room for the Filipinos to recover.

Backs against the wall, the Pinoy squad regained their footing for the final day of group stage, forcing the tiebreaker rematch with a 2-0 victory against BetBoom Team. Clinging on to hope, OG pushed the tie breaker all the way, but fell short after a nail-biting 60 minute game, ending their DreamLeague Season 28 tournament run.

OG sets sights on PGL Wallachia Season 7

The organization now shifts its focus to the upcoming PGL Wallachia Season 7, eyeing the $1,000,000 prize pool. The tournament will take place in Bucharest, running from March 7 to 15, 2026.

After swinging from that breakthrough performance at BLAST Slam VI to a bottom ten finish at DreamLeague, the question remains whether the newly formed roster can find the consistency needed to secure OG’s first Tier 1 trophy since 2022.
