Rallying fans behind the battle cry Palag na ’to!”, MPL Philippines Season 17 leans into a mindset that has always defined Filipino gaming culture. It is a phrase you hear right before things get serious, a signal that no matter the odds, you are stepping in ready to fight. This is a league built on grit, constant pressure, and the refusal to back down, whether you are a veteran contender or a rising challenger. “Palag” is not just about taking the fight. It is about embracing it, trusting your skill, and pushing forward alongside a community that thrives on competition and growth, and this is what the new season aims to accomplish.

The first day of the season saw monster crowds supporting the opening tiff between crowd darlings Team Liquid PH and Aurora Gaming. It was just the first day but the fans came out in full force seeing how loved the competition is in the country.

This season sees two Indonesian stars grace the MPL PH stage in Clayton “Savero” Kuswanto, and Sultan “AeronnShikii” Muhammad. This adds another interesting variable to the globalization of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene. With Indonesia and the Philippines known for their long time rivalry in the game, the import’s performance will definitely be the talking point throughout the season.

Another big announcement was that the eventual winners are finally going to get their own Championship rings by Fairrie. Before it was just Malaysia or the international tournaments like the M-series that offered luxurious rings for the winners. This time the local champs will have some unique silverware to flash for themselves and it is indeed an exciting time for the league.
