The Pulse Catalog is one of the top mobile applications for news reading on tablets and other mobile devices. It is one of 50 applications in the Apple App Store Hall of Fame and was named one of Time’s top 50 iPhone apps in 2011, according to the app’s website, Pulse.me.

FEATURED STORIES

To add Inquirer stories to your Pulse app, search for “Inquirer” in the Pulse Catalog and click on INQUIRER.net.

The Inquirer Pulse feed consists of summaries of top stories from the Inquirer’s news website, Inquirer.net—especially formatted for the Pulse app.

From the summaries, a Pulse reader can read full stories on either the mobile or desktop versions of INQUIRER.net. A reader may also download the Inquirer’s own mobile apps and subscribe to view the full content of the Inquirer Group’s 60 newspapers, magazines and e-books. (Print subscribers have complimentary digital access to their subscriptions on Inquirer mobile apps).

“We view the Pulse Catalog as something akin to a ‘discovery engine’ for our content, a way of introducing that content to digital users who may not be familiar with it,” said JV Rufino, Inquirer mobile director, who coordinated the development of the feed with the INQUIRER.net development team and the Pulse Catalog.

The Pulse feed is just one of many mobile platform initiatives undertaken by the Inquirer Group.

In addition to the Pulse Catalog, the Inquirer Group has a mobile website (m.inquirer.net) and a suite of mobile apps for Apple iOS, Android, Windows7, and the Blackberry Playbook (https://www.inquirer.net/apps).

Moreover, the Inquirer Group’s main title, Philippine Daily Inquirer, is also available as Kindle periodical on the Amazon Kindle line of e-readers (https://amzn.to/gPQkeV). Several Inquirer e-books are also available on the Kindle; go to https://www.inquirer.net/store to view available titles.
