Education, healthcare on top of HP’s mind

MANILA, Philippines—Leading PC supplier HP is keen on expanding its products to cover healthcare, education, travel, and digital media and entertainment by offering end-to-end solutions that have been tailored to fit the needs of these sectors.

More than just IT products, the new portfolio commercial solutions that HP unveiled recently include hardware, software and peripherals. These products will enable people in these sectors to access information and connect with each other easily. The new products also have some added features that particularly suit the environment where these people work.

For example, HP’s solution for the health industry includes a medical cart/station, which is installed with an HP notebook and a “washable” keyboard and mouse that can be soaked in water, apart from having an anti-bacterial surface.

The HP Pocket Whiteboard, which comes with a digital pen, turns any surface or wall into a digital white board and can project a diagonal work space up to ten feet.

The HP Classroom Manager software empowers teachers and administrators to keep students on task while improving collaboration by pushing content to notebooks and desktops in the classroom.

According to Billy Tan of HP’s personal systems group (PSG), the company has shifted its marketing efforts toward making customers know that they already have access to solutions to their particular needs. These customers need not wait for the hardware to be developed.

“It’s no long [about] how big the storage … but what the solution is. How will these products help the business?” said Tan.

“HP offers solutions and products to meet the real requirements of nearly every industry,” said Albert Mateo, country manager, PSG HP Philippines. “So HP is there, no matter where your passion takes you.”

Creative artists, engineers and media arts practitioners can find the solutions they need using HP Z-Series Workstations, which are powerful PCs boasting of advanced memory, graphics, storage, application certification and next generation processors plus SkyRoom (HP video/collaboration suite) and HP Performance Advisor.

HP’s notebooks for enterprise and small and medium businesses (SMBs), like the 12.1-inch ProBook 4230, are ideal for mobile professionals. The devices are durable (chassis is made of metal frame) and feature multimedia tools for business and home.

The 14-inch HP EliteBook 8460p features Intel technology, a choice of performance discrete graphics, and an amazing 32-hour battery power.
