New Philips monitors unveiled

BANGKOK—A computer monitor is essentially a user’s window to a world of possibilities, serving as a medium that allows access to people, information and many other things.

In fact, without a reliable monitor, one may never fully maximize and enjoy the benefits of using the computer for whatever purpose—be it for research, graphics design or simply browsing.

This is why MMD (Multimedia Displays), the company behind Philips monitors, recently unveiled here new products that promise to deliver excellent performance and exceptional value to both consumers and businesses.

MMD is a wholly-owned company of TPV, which was established in 2009 through a brand license agreement with Philips. MMD has been tasked to exclusively market and sell Philips-branded LCD monitors worldwide.

Officials present during the launch said the monitors were designed with consumers in mind, noting that  “for every product delivered, so much feedback and inputs from the consumers were considered.”

“Good design goes beyond aesthetic beauty. Consumers today demand that products not only look great, but act as their window to a world of computing possibilities,” says Benjamin Wong, managing director of MMD for Asia Pacific.

“Embodying the Philips philosophy of sense and simplicity, there is something for everyone in our range of consumer innovations,” Wong adds.

For the consumer category, MMD presented three latest additions to the company’s C, E and V lines, all featuring LED technology, superior color reproduction and Philips proprietary technologies that bring the comfort of working at home to a new level.

The C-Line, MMD says, is for the “stylish, sophisticated and hard to please” users as it features premium consumer monitors that combine elegance with innovative features that allow users to experience a “vivid color spectrum and life-like contrast.”

The Philips Moda PC, the latest from the C-Line, was designed with premium materials. It comes preloaded with top-of-the-line technology features. Its stand is made of stylish aluminum die-cast base, sporting an eye-catching two-toned glossy finish and intelligent SmartTouch controls that replace conventional protruding buttons.

Also under the C-Line is the Philips Blade, which features a unique 12.9 mm-thin display profile. With this model, cables and desktop clutters are reduced to a minimum as accessories are connected to the bottom of the stand.

The E-Line offers “value and uncompromised performance,” according to MMD.

The newest addition to the E-Line, it says, features a smartly-designed chassis with a translucent blue bezel. Its built-in speakers reduce desktop clutter and the 3D icon-based SmartControl lite graphical user interface allows one to calibrate the color and brightness of screen with ease.

Lastly, the V-Line features an attractive slim display and black glossy finish. It comes in screen sizes of 18.5 inches, 19 inches, 20 inches and 21.5 inches.

For business monitors, MMD showcased four models that come with LED backlighting and the Philips PowerSensor technology. The infrared sensor, according to MMD, makes it possible to cut down a monitor’s power consumption by up to 80 percent.

The Professional Line (or “P Line”) was designed with professional users in mind such as architects and designers as this monitor combines “superb picture quality with high ergonomic standards.”

Philips 273P3LPHEB, for instance, is equipped with a 27-inch display and Philips SuperErgo base, which allows users to adjust the monitor’s height by up to 130 mm. It can also be tilted, turned and has an auto-pivoting feature.

The Business Line (“B Line”) was developed specifically for businesses. It also features height and tilt adjustment capabilities.
