MANILA, Philippines—Anonymous or not, proper behavior while surfing the Internet is still the key.
Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero said that although the Internet made everyone anonymous on the Web, users should still be responsible on what they post or say regardless of the implementation of the Cybercrime Law.
“When people make fake accounts to badmouth another person, I think that’s already wrong,” Escudero said Wednesday at an interview with Inquirer Radio 990AM. “If a person cannot back up his words, then he is either wrong, or can’t stand up to his claims.”
“A law is not needed to that would prohibit or penalize them on what they post,” he added.
