Revilla says sorry to netizens over speech

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. apologized on Wednesday to the people who have expressed disgust over his privilege speech Monday.

“To those who were not happy about my privilege speech, my apologies,” Revilla told reporters in Filipino.

“But that song was dedicated to the 20 million people who supported me and who are continuously loving me,” he said.

The senator was referring to the song “Salamat Kaibigan,” which he sang himself in a music video that he played before he ended his speech Monday.

But Revilla reiterated that he understands the netizens who did not like his speech.

“To the netizens, I undestand you. It’s all right with me. I’m a good sport,” Revilla added.
