Netizens curse Monday traffic

/ 08:49 PM August 04, 2014

MANILA, Philippines—Most people especially those in the workforce dread Mondays as they commence their weekly grind. But this Monday has been especially manic for workers and students because of the heavy traffic caused by a road accident in one of the country’s major thoroughfares and heavy rains in the morning and the afternoon.

On Monday morning, an eight-vehicle pileup on Circumferential Road 5 (C5) in Makati City snarled traffic in most parts of Makati, Pasig, Mandaluyong City, Pasay City and Quezon City. Commuters, however, did not get a break in the afternoon and evening as heavy rains and flooding induced widespread traffic. Making things worse, both instances happened during the rush hour.

Netizens took to social media to vent their frustration over the unbearable metro traffic congestion.
