MANILA, Philippines – While the announcement of free Internet by Smart Communications was a welcome treat for its 66 million prepaid subscribers, those from competitor Globe Telecommunications were now demanding the same service.

Starting Friday until November 30, prepaid subscribers of Smart, Talk ’N Text, and Sun Cellular could avail of the free but not unlimited service, Manny V. Pangilinan, PLDT chairman, said in a press conference at the Shangri-la Hotel in Makati.
