Zamboanga lady cop ‘dubs’ Kris Aquino, Miriam Santiago
Hilarious dubsmash clips of a Zamboanga City policewoman showing her impersonation of several personalities while wearing athletic police uniform have gone viral.
A compilation of videos created through Dubsmash, a popular lip-syncing app, made PO1 Jane Lee-Kalayakan an internet sensation after her three-minute video got more than 300,000 views.
The video showed policewoman lip-syncing famous lines from Filipino movies, imitating politicians, including Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, and Dubsmash favorite Kris Aquino.
Kalayakan is currently assigned at the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office under the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Police.
In her Facebook post, Kalayakan said, “As a police officer, this dubsmash video that i uploaded is just one way to connect to YOU (the community) to whom we solicit involvement for peace!”
“Nais ko lang pong maramdaman ng lahat na kaming mga Pulis ay handang paglingkuran kayo kahit sa ganitong paraan. This is also my way of showing the other side of Police Officers, na hindi kinakatakutan bagkus ay madaling lapitan at sabay sa agos ng makabagong teknolohiya,” she said.
(I just want to make everyone feel that we, the police, are ready to serve you even in this [entertaining] manner. That we’re not to be afraid of but instead we’re approachable and attuned to modern technology).
But Kalayakan assured she puts her responsibility first as a policewoman before recording Dubsmash videos.
“Bonus paglilingkod ko po sa inyo ang pasayahin kayo (This is a bonus service to make you all happy),” she added. JLDJ/TVJ
