Lexus on Wednesday finally unveiled its working hoverboard through a video after a month of anticipation.

According to a report by Wired, the Lexus Hoverboard works through magnets and semiconductors by repelling the force of gravity to lift the board and the rider above the ground.

“There is no such thing as impossible, it’s just a matter of figuring out how,” Lexus chief engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi was quoted as saying at the beginning of the video.

In a 37-second teaser released in June, the bamboo and carbon fiber skateboard was seen emitting smokes as it floated an inch or two above the ground.

“That cool-looking steam coming off of the sides isn’t decorative; it’s liquid nitrogen, cooling the superconductors to -321 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature at which they become superconducting,” the report added.

For the hoverboard to work, Lexus has also reportedly built a skate park with magnetic rails beneath it.

Toward the end of the new video, the skateboard literally flew over a Lexus vehicle. YG
