Boasting of premium camera features and “breathtaking details,” Sony Mobile on Wednesday launched its newest lineup of smartphones—the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium.

Sony Philippines managing director Noboyushi Otake said the brand innovation comes at a time when smartphones are becoming more integral part of people’s lives.

“Since users already create, share, and enjoy most of their content on the go, we’ve set out to bring Sony’s latest innovations in camera, design and display to ensure the Xperia Z5 series is the best possible lifestyle and entertainment platform,” Otake said.

Echoing Otake, Xperia product marketing officer Jhoana Benedicto said smartphones are at the “very center of our busy lives.”

“We develop products that pay attention to our current needs and these needs are addressed by the Xperia Z5 series,” Benedicto said.

Xperia Z5 was designed with Sony’s interchangeable lens camera for clearer and more vivid photos. It can also capture split-second moments and spontaneous action in real-time owing to the camera speed and hybrid autofocus of 0.03 seconds, supposedly faster than the blink of the human eye.

The series also incorporated low-light photography advancements for clearer night photos with less noise and blur, 5 times clear image zoom without quality loss, and steady shot with intelligent active mode.

Xperia Z5 was made with a 5.2″ display, waterproof design, metal frame, and frosted glass back. Color variants range from white, graphite black, gold, and green.

To consumers who prefer more handy smartphones, the Xperia Z5 Compact boasts of the same camera technology but comes in a more pocket-friendly size. Its compact 4.6″ display is suitable for one-hand use. It is also available in yellow and coral colors, in addition to white and graphite black.

Both Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact have fingerprint sensor power buttons on the side, which make them more secured and easily unlockable for the user by pick up and press.

The two smartphones are both powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, which features octa-core CPUs, 64 bit capabilities and “ultra-fast” 4G LTE speeds.

The devices are also equipped with Sony’s up-to-two-day battery stamina and power-saving technology. Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 enables 5.5 hours usage with only 10 minutes of charging.

The Xperia Z5 Premium, meanwhile, was dubbed as the world’s first 4K ultra HD smartphone. It is equipped with a sharp 5.5″ 4K Triluminos Display with “pinpoint accuracy” and four times the resolution of full HD. It also enhances the quality of native or third party videos, including YouTube clips, in 4K detail.

It has a 32GB internal memory and is capable of taking 200GB external microSD card, which provides more room for videos and photos.

Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact, worth suggested retail prices of P35,990 and P29,990, respectively, will be available in all Sony Centres and Sony Mobile stores nationwide on Oct. 23, while the Xperia Z5 Premium will be available on Dec. 3. IDL
