Saudi OFW becomes online sensation

05:50 PM April 05, 2016

A Filipina domestic helper in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is emerging as a new Facebook online sensation.

Jean Nuñez, whose real name is Genalyn Ladra, gained instant popularity after posting a saga of comedic video skits on different social issues common in the Philippines, such as infidelity. The Cebuana’s accented and mispronunciation of English words such as transgender, which she pronounces as ‘trans-ginger’, also amused social media users.

Although many criticize her ‘poor’ English skills, she ignores her bashers and continues to produce videos that will entertain her audience. Her Facebook is now being followed by 141,931 people.
