Comeback stories are always the sweetest, and Paul George’s ascension from a devastating leg injury has inspired the producers of the upcoming NBA 2K17 to feature him as the game’s alternative cover.

The Indiana Pacers’ superstar capped off his amazing return to the the hardwood by leading his team to the playoffs and making the All-star team.

The news was first confirmed by the gaming giant’s official Twitter page on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila).

George, meanwhile, tallied impressive averages of 23.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while leading the 7th-seeded Pacers in pushing eventual Eastern Conference runner-up, Toronto Raptors, to the brink of elimination in their first round of the series.

He was also named to the All-NBA third team and the NBA All-defensive second team.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that recently retired Los Angeles Laker legend Kobe Bryant would headline the critically acclaimed video game.

2K, however, clarified that The Black Mamba would only appear on the Legend Edition of the game, while George would be featured in a different cover.

A third “standard cover” will reportedly be revealed in the upcoming weeks, which will be headlined by another NBA superstar. Khristian Ibarrola
