DisplayLink’s new display chip allows for multiple monitors to be connected through one USB port.

A new chip from DisplayLink now enables the streaming of content to four 4K ultra high-definition monitors, tech news  site The Verge reported. The DL-6950 chip taps into two ultra HD monitors and then two more can be added in a daisy chain to achieve the mind-blowing combination of four screens.

This technology is a byproduct of DisplayLink’s earlier adaptor that allowed 4K streaming over USB 3.0 and 2.0. The new chip ultimately provides an option to connect monitors to USB ports instead of going directly into a graphics card port. Alfred Bayle
