Facebook has made a pre-announcement of its upcoming updates for Facebook Live at VidCon. Most notable is the ability to stream a broadcast of two people in different locations.

The upcoming feature will essentially allow users to invite a friend to “drop in” on an ongoing broadcast. For live streamers, it can be used to conduct remote interviews and the like. Musicians can also perform duets live without needing to be in the same place.

According to Tech Crunch’s report, the feature will go live this summer.

YouTube will also be implementing other features such as waiting rooms, pre-scheduled broadcasts and going live with a digital mask, as well as special effects. Alfred Bayle
