Animal-rights NGO Angels for the Innocent Foundation shared a life-changing and inspirational four-minute-30-second video clip of how a dog miraculously recovered from an almost fatal train accident in India.

In the clip posted on the organization’s Facebook page on Sunday, Deepak, a stray dog, was rescued by volunteers after he was sighted with “grievous” eyes and squashed bones along the tracks of a railway in India.

“We have never before rescued so horrifically injured. With broken hearts, we thought we had to put him to sleep,” the video said.

Three of the canine’s limbs needed immediate surgery and were amputated in a five-hour surgery. “Doctors and nurses fought to save the beautiful boy’s life,” the video narrated. After recovering for six months, a beatific, healthy, and enthusiastic Deepak was filmed playing with fellow dogs, a far cry from his near-death condition when he was rescued by the NGO.

He even paddled his body in a swimming pool while playing a ball game.

The video has had 5.7 million views and 95,011 shares and 9,880  comments as of Thursday. Gianna Francesca Catolico
