As more players get into Pokemon Go and explore their surroundings, many are discovering that churches are among the most common landmarks.

Gaming site Kotaku reports that many Pokemon Go players are being directed to different churches to collect items and new Pokemon. Then these players go on to post their experiences on social media with some having comical stories to share.

But why churches? Apparently many of the landmarks in Pokemon Go were imported from Ingress, another augmented reality game made by Niantic. The game’s GPS system may also be marking many of the man-made landmarks near players, which happen to be churches. Alfred Bayle
