Smart unboxes a slew of innovative digital services
Fresh from last month’s logo revamp, Smart introduced new and innovative digital services during their Smart Unbox event at Shangri-la at The Fort last Wednesday, July 13th.
Opening the unboxing event was PLDT and Smart Chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan.
“Smart has built a legacy of bringing mobile innovations into the life of all Filipinos. With the digital wave upon us, we have come up with innovative products and services to bring the real-life benefits of connectivity to as many Filipinos as possible.”
“At the center of all these new products and services is our effort to transform our network into the country’s most extensive and data-capable infrastructure, so we are able to deliver faster, more reliable, and more affordable internet services across the country.”
Smart Wireless Consumer Operations Head, Kat Luna Abelarde, presented Smart’s newest digital services and campaigns that “…range from bringing the smartphone to the hands of more digital newbies, to providing the most awesome content for young digital natives, to making sure that everyone will enjoy the best data experience.”
The digital life starts with a smartphone. With that in mind, Smart introduced its bigger and better Smartphone Prepaid Kit at the very affordable price of P1,288. This makes it easier for Filipinos to connect to the internet and get accustomed to using apps and other online services.
For those with multiple gadgets, getting online has also been made easier with Smart Bro Pocket WiFi, now available for only P888.
Smart announced their Super Speed LTE SIMs and Giga Surf 50, their biggest data offer yet. For just P50, you’ll get 1GB for surfing and apps, plus an additional 300MB for video streaming on YouTube and iflix, valid for three days. The 1GB data can even be shared with other prepaid subscribers through Smart’s Pasadata service.
Smart has teamed up with Twitter via @SMARTCares, making them the first brand in the Philippines to use Twitter as their main customer service touchpoint and answering account inquiries in real-time.
Smart also introduced Marty the Smarty, everyone’s go-to guy for all kinds of questions and concerns about mobile data and the internet. Marty the Smarty is accessible via www.martythesmarty.com and @askmartysmarty on Twitter.
Smart subscribers (prepaid and postpaid) can now manage their accounts anytime, anywhere with the My Smart mobile app, downloadable on Google Play and iTunes. My Smart allows subscribers to register and check the status of promos, load up their account, and even redeem special perks.
Smart also unveiled their “Own It” campaign, a platform that encourages people to discover their passions, channel their creativity, and broadcast it to the world.
Smart Launchpad is a program for budding content creators to upload and broadcast their work via Upload Stations located all over the country. Industry experts will conduct special workshops where the most deserving content creators will be sent to Los Angeles for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of collaborating with some of the biggest YouTube stars.
Along with MCA Music, Smart kicked off Smart Music Live, a free-for-subscribers concert featuring Ely Buendia, Up Dharma Down, and Nathan Sykes at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Smart Music Live will also feature perks such as meet-and-greet events for the upcoming concerts of Selena Gomez (July 31), In the Mix featuring Third Eye Blind, Panic! At the Disco, James Bay, Elle King, and Twin Pines (August 18), and Shawn Mendes (October).
Rounding off Smart’s announcements is Smart Life, a breakthrough app featuring daily exclusive digital perks, videos, music, and games for mobile users.
The app will roll out exciting functionalities alongside top-rated shows from D5 Studio, sports coverages like FIBA and The Olympic Games, and other compelling content for an exciting multimedia experience.
As the country’s most extensive and data-capable network, Smart not only enhances Filipinos’ lifestyles with their services, they also level up their digital experience by continuing to come up with innovations that break barriers and change lives.
