NVIDIA launches new Titan X graphics card

NVIDIA is a company not to be easily outdone when it comes to graphics cards. Recently it announced that it is releasing soon its most powerful graphics card yet, the new NVIDIA Titan X.

What NVIDIA calls “the biggest GPU ever built,” it houses a total of 12 billion transistors. It uses the NVIDIA’s latest Pascal architecture which has 3,584 cores. The card has 12GB of GDDR5X memory and runs at 1.53GHz for a quoted 11 teraflops of performance, reports The Verge.

The NVIDIA blog post says that Baidu Chief Scientist Andrew Ng will be among the first persons in the world to receive a new NVIDIA Titan X for his efforts in deep learning research.

The NVIDIA Titan X will be available in the US and Europe on Aug. 2 at US$1,200 per unit. An Asian release is expected to follow.  Alfred Bayle
