The upcoming Apple Watch 2 may have a thinner profile than its predecessor, as well as better battery life.
Apple display supplier TPK Holdings, according to TechRadar, said that the company would be transitioning into a one-glass solution as opposed to the traditional glass-on-glass panel for the display. The latter, wherein components are sandwiched between two sheets of glass, is more favored by smartphone manufacturers.
Apple Watch 2 may retain its current shape while encasing a larger battery to address battery-life complaints about the first Apple Watch.
Another change that would greatly improve battery life would be switching to an OLED display. This would enable the Apple Watch 2 to display the time without turning off the screen just to save energy.
The Apple Watch 2 is also rumored to include a GPS chip so that runners can track their progress without needing to carry their smartphone with them. Alfred Bayle
