The fight against game piracy is constantly going back and forth between software security firms and hackers. This time around the hackers claim victory in thwarting a supposedly uncrackable anti-tamper solution.
Denuvo, a German company dedicated to keeping pirates from getting their hands on legitimate gaming software, had the rug yanked from under them as a pirate group called CONSPIR4CY found a way to fully crack Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Next Web reports.
The cracked game is now making the rounds on filing-sharing communities including all available DLCs to date. While no other games have not been as fully cracked, it could only be a matter of time before more victims follow, unless Denuvo can find the holes that crackers exploited in its anti-tampering tech.
