“Beyond Good & Evil” is one of those games that strike a chord in gamers, yet fail to meet the sales quota. Thankfully fans are consistent and passionate enough that its makers have given it an HD remaster in 2011 and hopefully a sequel very soon.  Image Ubisoft

“Beyond Good & Evil,” a game released way back in 2003, had a lot of substance but not a lot of sales. Despite this, the solid following it generated prompted a sequel in 2008. Now it seems “Beyond Good & Evil 2” is in the making.

The clue for the game’s future comes from an Instagram post made by Michel Ancel, creator of Rayman and director of the video game adaptation for Peter Jackson’s King Kong. The post was a concept art that featured a small pig, presumably a young Pey’j, sitting on the shoulders of an unknown bearded man hunched over a workbench of sorts, reports The Verge.

The image itself may not elicit memories of Jade and Pey’j, the two protagonists of the first Beyond Good & Evil game, until one reads the attached caption. It says, “Somewhere in system 4… – Thanks #ubisoft for making this possible!”

System 4 is the fictional location in space where the events of the first game took place, while Ubisoft is the developer. With this, it’s hard to not argue that this is a definitive hint at a future release of the much-awaited sequel to one of the underrated gems of the gaming world.  Alfred Bayle
