Much to the delight of thousands of their fans, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel evened up its best-of-seven PBA Governors’ Cup Finals series at one game apiece against the Meralco Bolts on Sunday. READ: Ginebra evens series at 1-1, escapes Meralco ADVERTISEMENT The euphoria has indeed reached new heights, so much so that a devoted female fan decided to make her own version of Gary Granada’s ’90s single “Pag Natatalo ang Ginebra” and a slightly altered “Sana Manalo ang Ginebra” by Bayang Barrios. The four-and-a-half-minute ode to the PBA’s most popular club was posted by Facebook user Maria Gracia Gonzales, and has gone viral since Monday. The original lyrics featured players from the glory days of the Robert Jaworski era, and Gonzales decided to update it with the squad’s current players—including LA Tinyente Tenorio, Joe Devance, Dave Marcelo, Mark Caguioa and import Justin Brownlee. (This was Game 2’s effect on me last night! I figured I’d change the original lyrics of Mr. Gary Granada with an updated list of the current roster, and I also used Ms. Bayang Barrios’ version.) Gonzales added that she also hoped her video would reach the Ginebra franchise. (I hope this reaches the whole Ginebra Team. I know it’s a long shot, but I’d still try.) Aside from her creative way of recapping Game 2, Gonzales left a strong final message to her esteemed team. “Tuldukan na ang walo. Talunin niyo ang Meralco (Let’s put a stop at eight. Beat Meralco,”) she said, referring to the franchise’s eight-year championship drought. As of this writing, Gonzales’ video has racked up over 1 million views and over 49,000 shares. The crucial third game between the two clubs will happen on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Khristian Ibarrola
