Championed to be a revolutionary high-speed mass transport system, Hyperloop One is shown in a just-released teaser video, which is a preview of a big announcement to be made in UAE.
It is not certain what the announcement will be, but given the previously conducted test run on an unmanned sled, the next logical step would be a test bed for this new super-fast train, reports The Next Web.
Should the Hyperloop One become operational, it claims to be able to transport passengers from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just a mind-boggling 12 minutes. As a point of comparison, driving will take around two hours and a flight, minus the usual airport routine, will take a little over an hour.
With a train traveling at the speed of 800 kilometers per hour, such feat in transportation is certainly quite possible. During the testing, when they were using a steel sled, they managed to accelerate it from zero to 185 km/hour.
Realistically, it will take some time for a passenger-ready transport system to be up and running, even for the UAE. But once it does, it could greatly affect the way we look at land transportation. Alfred Bayle
