Instagram launches ‘Live Video,’ ‘Disappearing Photos’ features
“Stories” was made to give Instagram users more ways of sharing and interacting with followers. Now the experience is being enhanced with the addition of “Live Video” and “Disappearing Photos and Videos.”
Similar to “Facebook Live,” Instagram’s Live Video will allow users to broadcast live and share whatever they are currently preoccupied with. Followers will be sent a notification, and users doing a live broadcast will get the tag “LIVE” under their profile pictures. Users and followers can also interact with each other during the broadcast through comments.

“Disappearing Photos and Videos” is another new feature that pretty much speaks for itself. It lets users send photos and videos through direct messages. It can be sent to specific individuals or a group of friends. But unlike regular messages, these will disappear from the recipients’ inbox after being seen. To give senders greater peace of mind, a notification will even be sent if the image or video was replayed or screenshot at the top of the Inbox.
Disappearing Pictures and Videos is now available to all users after updating the Instagram app to the latest version. Alfred Bayle
