Vivo leads the perfect selfie revolution with V5 smartphone

MANILA, Philippines – Vivo, the top 5 global smartphone manufacturer, revealed its secret to perfect selfies with the launch of the Vivo V5 smartphone. The Vivo V5 smartphone boasts Perfect Selfie capabilities with its high-quality front-facing camera, fast performance, and upgraded features that ensure great experiences for its users. The phone packs a whopping 20-Megapixel front camera featuring a 1/2.78” Sony IMX376 camera sensor coupled with a 5P lens system and an aperture of f/2.0, a first in the smartphone arena. This is paired with a 13 Megapixel PDAF rear camera that will help users snap photos as they happen with clarity. The grand launch happened at the Solaire Grand Ballroom with attending dealers, company partners and media personalities.

It was a night filled with glamour and awe-inspiring performances from different groups including light shows, street dancers and aerial exhibitionists.

Hazel Bascon, Vice President of Vivo Philippines opened the program with an update on the milestones and partnerships the company is under. The Vice president boasted the brand’s achievements both locally and globally creating massive partnerships including Vivo China pairing with NBA China as its exclusive smartphone and Vivo India as the title sponsor of the Indian premier league. On the local side, Bascon proudly announced its tremendous growth in sales since its launch this year and partnerships with Capdase, Argomall, Flexi finance and SM supermalls, the country’s largest retail conglomerate. “Vivo is dedicated and will continue to be aggressive as we strive for number 1” says Bascon.

Another highlight of the night is when Vivo unveiled its newest brand ambassador, Stephen Curry with a surprise video message from the champ himself. The 28-yeard old, record smashing basketball superstar shares with everyone how grateful he is to be part of the Vivo family in the Philippines and welcomes its Filipino fans to come check out the smartphone. The Philippines being known as a country with strong basketball roots and having someone like Stephen Curry lead the “perfect selfie” campaign is a game changer.

Mccoy De Leon and Verniece Enciso also joined the Vivo family as the brand’s local influencers sharing their opinions on how much they dig the smartphone’s perfect selfie feature and why everyone should try it out. They are joined on stage by the Vivo club ambassadors, a group of young exceptional individuals dedicated to bringing the brand to their fellow millennials.

The Launch was followed by a press conference for the attending media and a dealer’s night as the company pays tribute to their partnership with the dealers.

A Plus for the family

Vivo also revealed an upcoming device that is set to supplement the Vivo V5. The Vivo V5 Plus will feature a similar form factor as the V5 smartphone at 5.5 inches, but will feature a 1920×1080 display and 20-megapixel dual front-facing cameras that are set to enhance the perfect selfie experience of its users.

The Vivo V5 Plus will be coming soon on Philippine shores. Meanwhile, the Vivo V5 will be available in Vivo concept stores and major retailers nationwide for PHP 12,990. Consumers can also pre-order the V5 smartphone in major retailers starting November 23 to receive exclusive freebies including Vivo speakers, Vivo selfie stick, and a Vivo-branded phone stent.
