The highly anticipated Final Fantasy XV went on sale Tuesday in Japan and yet, several Japanese gamers have already gone on social media to announce their completion of the game.

One of these players, named Kyosuke, claimed on his Twitter account that he had already cleared the game’s main story in as little as 13 hours and 57 minutes without skipping cutscenes, reports Kotaku.

Another Twitter user with handle @AgohigeSinzi, said that he had completed the game in 15 hours. Yet another claimed to have finished the game in just 10 hours and 36 minutes but with cutscenes.

For a game that was meant to be completed within 40 hours, these completion hours are quite fast. To verify their claims, the players posted screenshots of their respective certificates of completion photo as well as the end credits.

In an interview with Kotaku last year, director Hajime Tabata stated that they “were aiming so that the entire [FFXV] story could potentially be cleared within 40 hours.” He added, “But looking at the current volume of what’s becoming available, it’s looking harder and harder to clear within that time. So it’s something that we’re gauging right now and trying to work around.”

To add context, one of Kotaku’s own staff completed the main story of Final Fantasy XV in 20 hours and spent 35 more hours doing side quests and hunts.

The vast majority of gamers have yet to make their way through the game, but it seems that Square Enix managed to incorporate a sizable amount of content into the latest iteration of the Final Fantasy franchise.  Alfred Bayle
