New elements officially added to periodic table

Looking at the old periodic table, one will notice the incomplete seventh row. The row has now been completed with the confirmation for the names of four elements discovered in the past decade.

The four elements confirmed by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry are Nihonium (Nh), Moscovium (Mc), Tennessine (Ts) and Oganesson (Og). They are numbered as elements 113, 115, 117 and 118, respectively, reports Quartz.

Comedian and science communicator also updated the 1959 song ‘The Elements by Tom Lehrer’ with these new elements. You may listen to her sing the song below.  Alfred Bayle
