There have been numerous levitating products in the past years from toys to speakers, but no major brand has released a levitating speaker until now.
Come January 5 to 8 next year, at the global tech event Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, LG is set to unveil its first ‘Levitating Portable Speaker’ to the public, reports Engadget.
The egg-shaped speaker unit hovers over the ‘Levitation Station’ which also doubles as a subwoofer. LG claims that the speaker can deliver sound in 360 degrees and last for 10 hours. Once the battery runs out, the speaker will automatically lower into the Levitation Station to recharge. The speaker is also water resistant.
No price has been revealed just yet but going by the prices of other levitating speakers currently in the market, LG’s speaker can be expected to cost around $150 to $200. Alfred Bayle
