When Android Marshmallow opened up the SD card for directly installing apps, many breathed a huge sigh of relief. Then came the next bottleneck of slower loading apps. SanDisk offers a solution to this conundrum with its new microSD card.

Dubbed as the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I, it is the first microSD card to comply with the SD Association’s Application Performance Class 1 specification. Simply dubbed A1, it basically requires minimal read and write data speeds for memory cards to allow faster application access, reports Gizmodo.

Having this microSD in a smartphone will greatly increase storage capacity without sacrificing app speed. It’s capacity is quite hefty as well, starting at 256GB. But as it is with storage media, capacity and size is directly proportional to price. Be prepared to shell out $200 (roughly P10,000) when it becomes available this month. Alfred Bayle
