Ever wanted to enroll in a formal photography course but don’t have the time or money to spare? Aspiring photographers are in luck because Harvard has just made their entire photography course available online, and it’s for free.

The course can now be accessed through the e-learning platform ALISON. It is divided into 12 modules, with a 13th module serving as an assessment of everything a student has learned, reports The Next Web.

A student passes with a score of 80 and above, and will be entitled to a diploma that can be printed out for display.

However, there is a catch. The course is from 2009, and while most of the fundamentals still hold weight, some of the lessons regarding tools and software are a little bit dated.

Other prestigious universities such as UCLA, Yale and Princeton have also contributed learning materials to the internet. These however are mostly geared towards academics and computer science. This makes Harvard’s latest creative contribution to the online learning community a breath of fresh air and hopefully the first of many to come. Alfred Bayle
