WATCH: Boston Dynamics’ new jumping robot officially revealed
Earlier this month, footage of Boston Dynamics’ latest creation, a jumping robot called Handle, was leaked by venture capitalist Steve Jurvetson.
This new official unveiling video from the Boston Dynamics YouTube channel shows off more of Handle’s jumping prowess. It also shows the robot picking up and transporting a 100-pound crate. The video also demonstrated how ’Handle’ can maintain stability in its upper portion despite extremely rough terrain.
The Verge reports that Handle stands 6.5 feet tall, travels at nine miles per hour, and can jump vertically up to four feet high.
Apart from doing a grasshopper impersonation, maybe Handle could also star on a “Robots on Ice” show. Alfred Bayle/JB
