Waze and Spotify’s duet means musical commuting
A new joint feature allows users to get turn-by-turn navigation within their Spotify app or, if they prefer access to their Spotify playlists while using Waze.
It means that voice instructions or alerts will temporarily mute out the playlist rather than the music and the navigation system both competing for the driver’s aural spectrum at the same time.
Article continues after this advertisementHowever, regardless of how commuters want to sing on the drive to work while avoiding holdups, the new cross-app integration, announced Tuesday, is designed to minimize distraction.
The two features will work on the same screen without having to flick between apps. And unless your car supports Android Auto, you’ll have to stop moving in order to switch between Spotify and Waze.
The new feature is currently only available for Android users. JB
